CHESS, 2011

Research topics

CHESS was given strategic research money from FAS (2007-2016) for the research programme "Human society as a life-long determinant of Human Health". The program is a multidisciplinary effort to explain why health inequalities re-emerge in every new generation, in spite of modern welfare developments.

Data materials

Several data materials, rich in information and of different types, are available at CHESS. For example "Health, Sickness, Income and Work (HSIA)" with register data containing patient care, "The Stockholm Birth Cohort Study (SBC)" with both survey and register information for 50 years on a cohort born in 1953, as well as "The Uppsala Birth Cohort Multigenerational Study (UBCoS)" including data on five generations.

Projects

Research projects are fundamental for the work at CHESS, and often they are a key for interdiscplinary collaborations.

Seminars

Centre of Health Equity Studies offers open seminars at CHESS library (Sveaplan, 5th floor), usually every other Wednesday at 13.30. You are most welcome to attend - no advance notification is required.
