This is a seminar within the framework of a large research initiative on children, migration and integration at Stockholm University. This research initiative is an interfaculty effort with a focus on interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, and during 2017 a number of seminars are given by different institutions at the faculties of humanities, law and social sciences.

“Trauma, exile and mental health in young refugees”

Edith Montgomery is a psychologist and a senior researcher at the Danish Institute against torture (DIGNITY) in Copenhagen and at the Danish Research Centre for Migration, Ethnicity and Health (MESU) at University of Copenhagen. Dr. Montgomery’s research is mainly centered on the mental health and functioning of asylum-seeking and refugee families, with a specific focus on children and youth. In this talk, Dr. Montgomery will present results from her research on trauma and exile-related mental health in young refugees.
The seminar will take place in room 549 (CHESS Library) at CHESS, 5th floor, Sveavägen 160 (Sveaplan), on Thursday May 4, 15:00-17:00.
