Pekka Martikainen is professor of Demography at the University of Helsinki and  visiting professor at CHESS. Most of his research interests are associated with changes and causes of socioeconomic differences in cause-specific mortality. His most recent project focuses on the accumulation of poor health and labour market disadvantage in households and across generations.
